- First Year Degree Programmes
The 1st Year Degree (equivalent) programme is offered in partnership with the University of Plymouth as an alternative pathway to a university degree. These programmes are equivalent to 1st Year (Year One) of a University of Plymouth undergraduate degree and are quality assured by the University itself. Upon successful completion of the 1st Year Degree (equivalent) programme, you will transfer into the 2nd Year (Year Two) of your selected University of Plymouth Bachelor (Hons) degree programme.Programme durationThe 1st Year Degree (equivalent) programme is two (2) semesters in duration, allowing students to complete this programme plus their Bachelor (Hons) degree in three (3)years. This is the normal duration of an undergraduate degree.Entry datesThe majority of programmes have three (3) intakes per year in October, February and June.AssessmentAssessment for most modules is continuous, consisting of tests, assignments and case study analysis. Most modules have a final examination.Programme structureStudents will normally undertake modules which mirror the curriculum taught at the university, each semester. These modules are often also taught by academic staff from the University.Students gain full transfer credit for Year One of their studies at PDIC. In addition to formal contact hours, PDIC provides students with extra support through individual consultation with teachers, tutorials, skills assistance and self-access computer laboratories. English language requirementsStudents who do not meet the English language requirement of 6.0 IELTS able to undertake the requiredamount of English language training with PDIC in order to prepare them for successful entry into the 1st Year Degree (equivalent) programme. |
