The university is located in the centre of the city making it the focal point for much of the city's cultural sensibilities. The university prides itself on inclusion and is always striving to provide a successful and enjoyable experience for students from all over the world. The University of Plymouth has 1,700 international students ranging from 80 different countries. Facilities are provided for students to continue engaging in any of the important cultural activities they may have undertaken at home, as well as involving themselves in any others of interest.

The campus also includes a wide variety of modern cafes and restaurants and benefits from a recent £100m renovation, making it one of the best presented universities in the UK. PDIC is located within the main campus which is within easy walking distance of the city centre, waterfront and railway station.
